Klosterneuburg's Treasury before the valley
The day opens before you reach the Wachau. Klosterneuburg Abbey sits on the Danube just north of Vienna, and your fare includes a ticket to its Treasury. You spend about two hours there, so you start the day with history rather than a long drive. Then you head west through the Lower Austrian countryside to the valley itself.

The abbey church, the library and the Marble Hall are all inside the abbey's own ticket, €16 for an adult in 2026, and that ticket is not in your fare.
